Sensory Squish Bag!

Baby E can't join in with the Halloween activities that I have done for big sister so I've made him his own instead.
.
I placed the contents of the pumpkin we used for Z's pumpkin stew activity into a strong ziplock sandwich bag and drew a pumpkin onto the front with permanent marker.
.
To avoid leakage, I double bagged it and then secured everything to the floor with masking tape.
.
Baby E then squished and explored all whilst getting a great tummy time workout.
.
As always, please supervise your baby whilst they play!

Alphabet Games!

When the lovely Clare from @tinystepsmakebigstrides asked me to check out her alphabet resource pack, I jumped at the chance because Miss is so keen to learn.
.
The resources are founded on the educational research that takes the written word as a symbolic nature of the spoken word. The alphabet is all decodable as in every letter has a word that can be sounded out from the basic a-z code.
.
At Miss Z's level, I adapted the activities to play some alphabet matching games as shown in the swipe along. We used the gorgeous hand illustrated picture cards and alphabet to help her start making connections.

Cooking up some spider stew! 🕷️

I LOVE Halloween so I just had to set up something for Miss Z on the tuff spot tray. This sensory play experience has been going in the dining room for a few days now and there's rice all over the floor, but we're having fun!
.
For this activity, I just cut the top off a pumpkin and hollowed it out (the inside has been used for baby E's own special activity) and poured some dyed rice around the outside. I then added scoops and a cauldron so Z could do some special Halloween themed cooking.

I'm kicking off with my craft right out the gates because as a lot of you know by now, we're moving house in just two weeks. Oh my gosh! 😲

I introduced the 9y/o to the nineties with some favourite phrases and sayings then we turned them into FRIDGE MAGNETS with the help of one of my favourite nineties crafts resources: Fimo. I'll put a tutorial on stories pronto.

Baby sensory: bubble wrap 'floor'
.
I've seen this idea floating around the interwebs for a while now so thought I'd give it a try.
.
All you need do is place a sheet of bubble wrap on the floor (we save all of ours from packages) and keep in place with masking tape.
.
Baby E (6 months) is currently showing signs of crawling so I thought this would be a great way to encourage him - he absolutely loved it along with Miss 2.
.
Obviously, this kind of activity needs to be carefully supervised so please never leave your baby unattended ❤️

Making bracelets from pasta and recycling ❤️ I feel like pasta jewellery is a rite of passage for little ones. I used to love rocking the carb creations I was made whilst teaching primary 😍

If you swipe across, you'll see our bracelet making station using recycling in the form of food pouch lids, pasta, cake cases and pipe cleaners from the craft cupboard.

This activity is a great way to work hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills in a fun, creative way.
